Neutrogena is recalling makeup wipes that may be contaminated with pluralibacter gergoviae bacteria, which can cause serious infections including sepsis, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) reports.
The Class II recall involves 1,312 cases of its Ultra-Soft Cleansing Towelettes in 50-count 25-pack wipes with lot number 1835U6325A. The makeup wipes were distributed to Texas, South Carolina, Georgia, and Florida on Sept. 19, 2025. A Class II recall occurs when using the affected product is a moderate public health risk, according to the FDA.
What to tell your patients? Check the package labeling for the lot number and return them for a refund.
