As part of the 14th Annual dermMentors Resident of Distinction Award, Beiersdorf Inc. sponsored five top dermatology residents to attend the 2025 Maui Derm-Hawaii conference.
Established in 2011, Beiersdorf created this program to recognize residents for their outstanding research and dedication to the field of dermatology. Each year, five dermatology residents are selected by the dermMentors Senior Faculty to receive full sponsorship to attend and participate in the Maui Derm Hawaii dermatology conference.
The 2025 Resident Awardees included:
- Maggi Ahmed, MD, PhD, of The University of Massachusetts,
- Sima Amin, MD, MBA, of the University of Alabama-Birmingham
- Brooke Burgess, MD, MS, of The University of Texas-San Antonio
- Yelena Dokic, MD, of the Baylor College of Medicine,
- Victoria Perez, MD, of Columbia University
The residents attended the scientific sessions as well as networking and mentorship events with thought leaders in dermatology. They presented their research during the Maui Derm “Talk Story” sessions .At the awards ceremony, Beiersdorf also presented the 2025 Resident Awardees with $500 Conference Support Grants, to be used toward their continuing education at a future dermatology conference.
